About The Position
The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of Bismarck Event Center. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and supporting event-based financial reporting. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and is highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven. This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00 - $25.00 Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays). This position will remain open until June 19, 2026.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Deadline-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel proficiency required).
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Problem-solving mindset.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of NetSuite preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Post and reconcile journal entries.
- Prepare event settlements and corresponding sales journals.
- Perform analysis of accounting records.
- Prepare detailed event profitability statements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Provide financial reporting support to the Director of Finance as needed.
