About The Position

Wis‑Pak, a leading manufacturer and distributor of some of the nation’s most recognized beverage brands is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant I to join our Finance team. In this role, you will contribute to the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting while gaining hands-on experience with general accounting, reconciliations, financial close activities, fixed asset accounting, and audit support. This position offers the opportunity to build experience across a variety of accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial close activities, audit support, and financial analysis. The role is based in our newly built Corporate Headquarters conveniently located off Highway 67 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and follows a hybrid schedule of four days in the office and one remote workday per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related technical field
  • 3+ seasons of public accounting experience, including internships
  • Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP or accounting software systems
  • Exposure to financial reporting, account reconciliations, or month-end close activities
  • Manufacturing industry internship or work experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record journal entries and support documentation.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain fixed assets and lease accounting records, including depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with external audit requests and financial reporting support.
  • Analyze financial information and identify opportunities for improved accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
