About The Position

Our client, a well-established and growing law firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant to add to their team in Jacksonville, FL. Reporting directly to the Finance Director and working alongside a small, collaborative team, you’ll play a key role in supporting financial reporting, analysis, and month-end close. You’ll contribute across a variety of accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, posting daily bank activity, supporting payroll and benefits, and analyzing monthly compensation and insurance data. If you’re resourceful, detail-oriented, and excited by the opportunity to build and optimize processes in a dynamic environment, this could be a great fit. This is a highly visible position within a lean, growing team where you’ll have the opportunity to wear multiple hats, take ownership of your work, and directly impact process improvements and the firm’s continued growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 2+ years accounting experience required
• Financial reporting experience required
• Large/complex general ledger (200+ accounts) experience required
• Full-cycle month-end close experience required
• Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation) skills required
• Accounting software experience required

Responsibilities

• Perform account reconciliations
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist with cash posting and daily cash management
• Support accounts receivable
• Monitor collections; follow up on overdue accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Collaborate with the team
• Help improve accounting processes and workflow
