About The Position

This role is responsible for assisting with the overall daily accounting process to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS/BBA) with a major in Accounting is required
Three to five years related experience and/or training preferred
Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to GAAP
Intermediate MS Excel skills
Attention to detail is critical in this role and errors must be minimal and inconsequential
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have excellent analytical skills

Responsibilities

Assist with the month-end closing process, conducting research and making correction journal entries for account discrepancies, prepares closing journal entries, posts accrual entries
Reconciles, adjusts and maintains balance sheet accounts such as prepaid expenses, petty cash, accounts receivable, payroll liabilities, notes receivable, notes payable, deferred revenues, etc.
Analyzes expense accounts monthly, comparing to forecast and recording accruals when needed
Records weekly revenues
Records daily deposit activity and prepares daily cash reports
Prepares and posts monthly adjusting journal entries
Reconciles intercompany activity on weekly basis
Maintains fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules
Reconciles bank and credit card statements
Processes employee expense reports
Assists in preparation of monthly financial statements
Assists with preparation of required schedules for annual financial statement audit and tax filings for respective subsidiaries
Creates and/or maintains efficient accounting procedures with a focus on internal control
Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles
Other duties may be assigned as needed
