About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, grant accounting, revenue accounting, month-end close activities, reconciliations, and compliance requirements. This role works closely with finance leadership and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, grant administration, and accounting integrity.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism.

  • Grant accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger balances.
  • Process account transfers, reclasses, and cash management transactions.
  • Assist with annual audits and financial reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile accounting and CRM systems.
  • Record and reconcile donations, pledges, and event revenues.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for revenue transactions.
  • Manage restricted funds and designation accounting.
  • Prepare related monthly reconciliations and reporting.
  • Manage assigned grant portfolios from a financial perspective.
  • Monitor grant budgets and expenditures.
  • Prepare and submit grant invoices.
  • Track grant reimbursements and funding utilization.
  • Record deferred and restricted revenue entries.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
