About The Position

Hendrick Technical Solutions is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our Defense Programs. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations to include engagement on integrated program teams, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in public accounting and/or accounting in a manufacturing company.
  • Ability to thrive with multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, proficient in ERP systems and financial reporting applications (D365 F&O, and Power BI a plus).
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Must have an ability to communicate effectively with others and serve as a team player to both departmental and organization team members.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Strong mathematical skills required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, BOMs, and familiarity with production and manufacturing processes and equipment desired.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and summarize cost information for products, services, or projects and convert to suggested sales price.
  • Serve as accounting representative on integrated program teams.
  • Attend weekly meetings and provide deliverables to the Program Manager.
  • Prepare quotes and manage sales orders in the ERP system.
  • Monitor actual costs versus estimated costs, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities including fixed asset management, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory variance analysis, project cost & revenue recognition and preparation of financial reports.
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to review processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct inventory analysis and physical inventory counts to ensure proper valuation and reconciliation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and optimization of the ERP system.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting as requested.
