About The Position

Our Blood Institute is actively looking for a Staff Accountant. This position would assist the Controller with the month-end closing process and provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing financial data. Also, this position will play a key role in maintaining the company's accounting software applications and functions.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Minimum Two years General Ledger Accounting experience
High Proficiency with Excel & Other Accounting software
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Analytical problem-solving ability
Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail
Ability to prioritize objectives and job duties
Ability to plan/organize workload, while maintaining flexibility
Good Communication Skills
Highly Motivated
Ability to consistently meet monthly and quarterly deadlines

Responsibilities

Preparing and posting journal vouchers for month end and year end closing.
Identifying, recording and posting monthly, quarterly and year end accrual entries.
Maintaining subsidiary ledgers as necessary.
Support month end and year end close process.
Preparing monthly account reconciliation reports of various balance sheet accounts & income statement accounts assigned by controller/management.
Preparing supplemental management reports when requested by management.
Overseeing and maintaining the functionality of the accounting software applications by developing new reports using Pivot Tables or VLookup and troubleshooting software problems when they arise.
Activities relating to year-end financial audit including preparation of audit work papers and financial reports for examination.
Providing accounting/financial support to other departments when needed.
