About The Position

Wilson Construction Company has an immediate opening at our headquarters in Canby, OR for a self-motivated candidate with a positive, team-oriented outlook to fill a Staff Accountant position. Wilson has been in business since 1952, as a power utility contractor, working in multiple states. The Staff Accountant will work closely with various departments throughout the organization, under the direction of the Accounting Manager.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Strong computer skills, including an intermediate level of proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication, analytical, conceptual thinking and problem solving skills
  • Precise attention to details and accuracy, and demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Flexible outlook toward task management, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work independently with excellent organizational skills
  • The ability to effectively work with employees across all disciplines of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Monthly general ledger account reconciliation
  • Monthly job costing
  • Create and enter journal entries
  • Create and enter various allocations
  • Process subcontractor invoices
  • Maintain subcontractor invoice tracking log
  • Create and review subcontractor lien releases
  • Create and track subcontract change orders
  • Understanding of subcontract agreements
  • Understanding of construction contracts
  • Assisting with other various monthly 10-day close tasks
