About The Position
Cunningham Restaurant Group is currently searching for a Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate for this position would possess a working knowledge and understanding of finance operations and how they support the restaurant functions. This role maintains and controls the General Ledger accounts and business transactions for selected locations.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Compeat or similar accounting system
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and good-record-keeping
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Team player and can collaborate with other teams in the organization
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management

- Accounting degree
- Previous restaurant accounting experience
Responsibilities
- Daily Sales Report – Balance, audit, post to COMPEAT
- Accounts Payable – Audit cut-off and account number assignment and post to Compeat
- Bi-monthly vendor statement reconciliation of outstanding restaurant AP invoices
- Assist AP Manager with weekly check run processing.
- Cash / Bank Reconciliation
- Monthly petty cash recon
- Corporate bank deposits
- Rebates – tracking for food, liquor, beer, wine
- Journal entry preparation for various activities
- Restaurant Private Dining reclassification
- Accounts Receivables
- Inventory corrections
- Prepaids
- Cash reconciliation corrections
- Assist with preparation of monthly P & Ls
- Balance Sheet book analysis
- Assist with year-end G & A Budget analysis
- Accounting responsibilities (Quick-books) for owned apartments.
