Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and two years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Grant billing or grant accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a generalist staff accountant. Support month-end financial close activities (i.e., making journal entries and reviewing and reconciling balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy).
  • Perform cash management activities such as program and medical billing, monthly reconciliation of cash accounts and grant budgets, preparation of weekly bank deposits, and resolution of stale checks.
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, grant accounting, and project accounting, including providing support for monthly grant invoicing and reimbursement as needed.
  • Assist with preparation of information requests for the annual financial audit, single audit, and tax returns.
  • Provide support for accounting, reporting, and compliance projects.
  • Prepare and submit sales tax returns.
  • Prepare, verify and distribute annual vendor 1099’s.
  • Maintain knowledge and cross-training in order to provide secondary coverage for other accounting staff such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, grant billing, and payroll.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Team to maintain and improve cross-functional processes and associated internal controls that protect financial resources and drive efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with grant program managers to ensure financial compliance with grant requirements.
