About The Position

Mid South Rehab Services, Inc., Ridgeland, Mississippi, is adding a Staff Accountant to THE TEAM at our Employee Support Center in Ridgeland. The position is full-time, in office, Monday - Friday, 8AM to 5PM. The position will be responsible for Accounts Receivable, as well as assisting the Accounting Department in the preparation of Company financial statements, and other special projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related field required
  • Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
  • Must possess excellent organizational, time management, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with Sage/MAS 90 preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Accounts Receivable process and ensure the accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts and application.
  • Enter all cash receipts daily and apply appropriate journal entries.
  • Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Prepare company financial statements as directed.
  • Serve as back up for daily cash management.
  • Serve as back up to Accounts Payable / Purchasing as needed.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Fosters positive relationships between Employee Partners.
  • Follows company expectations in regard to HIPAA/Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Cross-train in all daily and monthly processes in Accounting.
