About The Position
Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to support financial operations within a manufacturing or process-driven environment, with a focus on inventory, production costing, and operational accounting. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and partnering with operations teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1–3 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
Nice To Haves
- manufacturing or agriculture industry experience preferred
- Experience within manufacturing, agribusiness, commodity-based, or process industries
- Exposure to hedge accounting or derivatives
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile inventory balances and production-related accounts
- Track and analyze production yields, shrink, and operational variances
- Assist with cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations and standard cost updates
- Partner with operations teams to validate production data and inputs
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis
- Support accounting for hedging instruments and related reporting, if applicable
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Track capital expenditures and assist with project capitalization
