About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy of financial records, assisting with financial records, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and advanced spreadsheet skills. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern finance software and the ability to support the CFO in maintaining efficient and accurate financial processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Associate degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions; main liaison with bookkeeper
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations in a timely manner
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets
  • Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends
  • Utilize spreadsheet application (pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools) to support reporting and decision-making
  • Maintain accurate financial records within accounting management software
  • Process journal entries and ensure proper documentation of transactions
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
  • Research and resolving accounting discrepancies and issues
  • Resolve patient account inquiries
  • Collaborate with executive management on vendor services/ expense management
  • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure accurate financial data
  • Responsible for remote and cash deposit at bank
  • Other duties as assigned
