About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing daily cost and general ledger accounting activities, supporting the month-end closing process, and assisting in maintaining accurate financial records. This role is ideal for someone looking to further develop their accounting skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or related financial roles.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is required
  • Understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Hands-on experience in Advanced Microsoft Excel is required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in fixed asset accounting preferred
  • Proficiency in ERP software JD Edwards is preferred
  • Experience coordinating with external auditors is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
  • Assist in performing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset and CIP schedules and depreciation calculations
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  • Support accounting activities for global domestic and international entities.
  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist in spending and variance analysis
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial information
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes
  • Preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during the audit process
  • Any other tasks and ad hoc requests as assigned by manager
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
