About The Position

This position supports SecurTec's Finance and Accounting function from our West Palm Beach corporate headquarters. The Staff Accountant I plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and reporting. The Staff Accountant I is responsible for performing day-to-day general accounting activities, including bookkeeping, payroll support, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain broad exposure across the full accounting cycle while contributing to a growing company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with month-end close in a corporate or multi-entity environment
  • Exposure to payroll processing and reconciliation
  • Coursework or progress toward CPA licensure

Responsibilities

  • Perform general bookkeeping, including recording and posting journal entries
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions
  • Support payroll processing, including review, reconciliation, and related journal entries
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, including accruals and adjusting entries
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
  • Support the broader Finance team with ad hoc projects and analysis
