About The Position

Are you a highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated person who has a strong accounting background? If so, our Staff Accountant I role may be for you. The person in this role is responsible for performing accounting tasks in collaboration with internal departments.

Requirements

  • Has a bachelor’s degree in accounting, or in a related specialization.
  • Has at least 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, or similar.
  • Is proficient in QuickBooks.
  • Has a working knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
  • Is highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Possesses strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Exhibits excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Possesses a willingness to learn and a desire to share knowledge within the team

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Preparing monthly Inventory and Cost of Goods Sold reconciliations
  • Revenue Recognition
  • Assisting with monthly close processes.
  • Performing general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  • Reconciling bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Reconciling customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifying payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Providing outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Performing other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
