About The Position

HighRes Biosolutions partners with life science organizations to design, build, integrate, and service intelligent laboratory automation systems and orchestration software. Our work helps pharmaceutical, biotech, genomics, and synthetic biology teams run efficient, reproducible science at scale — accelerating the rate at which our customers positively impact human health. The Finance & Accounting team keeps that engine running with accurate, timely, and well-controlled financials. As HighRes continues to grow, we are investing in our systems and processes, including a transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). The Staff Accountant I supports the day-to-day accounting operations of HighRes across the full accounting cycle — from customer billing and accounts payable to reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant to build broad, hands-on experience while contributing directly to the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records. The role will also play an active part in HighRes's transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of accounting experience; internship or co-op experience in an accounting function is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data validation) and comfort learning new systems.
• Clear written and verbal communication and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to an ERP or accounting system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar) preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines during close.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and monthly financial analysis.
• Perform customer billing, accounts receivable, collections, customer statements, credits, and unapplied cash.
• Perform accounts payable transactions including vendor setup, invoice coding, approvals, payment processing, AP aging, and vendor reconciliations.
• Maintain bank reconciliations, accounting schedules, and related supporting documentation.
• Support the transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), including testing, data validation, account mapping, workflows, and reconciliation of converted data.
• Maintain accurate accounting records across customers, vendors, projects, departments, locations, and general ledger accounts.
• Perform purchase order tracking and resolve billing, payment, and vendor discrepancies.
• Assist with cash management and monitoring of expected receipts and payment obligations.
• Support annual audits, including preparation of schedules and responses to auditor requests.
• Assist the Financial Controller with process improvements, system implementation, and other accounting projects.
