Staff Accountant I
About The Position
Thomson Power Systems (TPS) - (a Regal Rexnord company) is a leading manufacturer of electrical products and systems for the power generation industry, with over 50 years of proven excellence. As we expand into a new facility near Arlington, TX, we're seeking a talented Staff Accounting. Reporting directly to the Arlington Site Controller and based in Arlington, TX, Regal Rexnord is seeking a Staff Accountant I who will play a vital role in ensuring our financial records are accurate, compliant, and meaningful. This is a hands-on, onsite role where you’ll gain exposure to the full accounting cycle, manufacturing experience, learn from experienced mentors, and see the tangible results of your contributions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 0–3 years of accounting experience (internships and part-time roles count!)
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, including but not limited to payroll, fixed assets, travel and entertainment and other operating expenses.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts monthly.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments.
- Help prepare financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules under the supervision of senior finance personnel.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and resolve discrepancies.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues.
