Our Asia Pacific tax practice is the largest practice in the Greater Vancouver Area, providing a wide range of tax planning, advisory and compliance services to high net-worth families and corporations with roots in Asia Pacific region (mainly mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan). We, together with KPMG global member firms, help personal and corporate clients navigate through complex tax environment and identify most efficient tax solutions while meeting the business, legal, financing and family needs. We have advised on some of the most significant in-bound transactions in local history and are experiencing rapid growth. We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Mandarin speaking tax professional at the Staff Accountant level in our dynamic and growing Asia Pacific Network tax practice. As an integral member of this team, you will work closely with KPMG Partners to provide tax advisory and compliance services to a vast array of clients while supporting the evolution of the practice and drive engagements in our Asia Pacific Network.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a public accounting firm
  • Undergraduate degree in business, accounting, finance, or similar
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English is a requirement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates leadership and team building skills
  • Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Is keen to assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for various clients.
  • Willingly takes on and learns new skills by researching a wide variety of tax issues and leveraging latest technology.
  • Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships
  • Able to provide persuasive and self-assured responses to challenging questions

Responsibilities

  • Prepare working paper files and income tax returns for Individuals, corporations, partnerships and trusts, including foreign reporting.
  • Work closely with Partners, Senior Managers, and Managers on client engagements where you will have the opportunity to develop and assist with tax planning strategies for our clients.
  • Perform tax research.
  • Assist clients in response to income tax audits and tax litigations.
  • Communicate with the CRA on various tax matters on client’s behalf.
  • Assist clients with various BC real estate-related tax filings and corresponding review or audit responses if arises.
  • Responsible for maintaining client files to ensure accurate and timely completion of returns and schedules.
