About The Position

A Staff Auditor should be able to work independently, complete work accurately and in a timely manner, and establish workload priorities. In addition, a Staff Auditor should contribute to a team environment, assisting those around them. This role supports audit engagements through planning, risk assessment, testing, documentation, and client deliverables while continuing to develop technical accounting and auditing knowledge.

Requirements

  • Understanding of audit services with developing knowledge of GAAP and GAAS
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate with clients, staff, managers, and partners
  • Demonstrated experience or ability to act as in-charge on audit sections
  • Reliable with a positive attitude toward the working environment
  • 0-3 years of current or recent public accounting experience providing financial statement auditing services
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field
  • CPA license or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a CPA license, including required coursework

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of GAAS
  • Participate in audit engagement file organization and documentation
  • Work with the engagement team during assessment of audit risk, planning, and design of audit procedures
  • Understand and utilize the firm's audit methodology
  • Prepare and perform substantive testing on clients' balance sheets and income statements
  • Obtain an understanding and assessment of clients' internal controls and make recommendations for improvement through the risk assessment process
  • Audit more simplistic areas and transactions and assist with preparing client deliverable reports
  • Identify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to Seniors, Managers, and Partners
  • Assist in identifying and improving performance on engagements
  • Ensure professional development through active continuing professional education
  • Participate in firm-wide initiatives, including recruitment
