Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. Located in Elko, this position entails applying advanced engineering principles to the design, management, and oversight of projects that impact public safety, health, and welfare. These roles require independent professional judgment, technical expertise, and adherence to regulatory standards across areas such as construction, utilities, and equipment design. Engineers are responsible for planning and coordinating projects to ensure timely completion, regulatory compliance, and fiscal efficiency. Duties also include preparing and reviewing technical documentation, presenting complex engineering information, and collaborating with consultants, contractors, and governmental agencies to achieve project objectives.
