About The Position

The Beasley Group is seeking motivated individuals to join our sawmill team in Hazlehurst as a Stacker Apprentice. The Stacker Apprentice is responsible for learning the safe and efficient stacking, sorting, and handling of lumber in a fast-paced sawmill environment. This entry-level role provides on-the-job training and a clear path to advancement within mill operations.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience in a sawmill, manufacturing, or labor role

Responsibilities

• Stack and sort lumber by size, grade, and production requirements
• Ensure boards are aligned properly and prevent jams in the stacking system
• Monitor lumber flow from sawmill equipment to maintain efficiency
• Remove defective or damaged boards to support quality standards
• Assist with banding, tagging, and preparing finished bundles
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment (housekeeping duties)
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Perform other duties as assigned
