Sets up and operates both automatic and manual assembly lines, assembles parts to specifications. Satisfies SA’s Quality goals and objectives in completion of activities or duties. This role involves maintaining and providing a safe work area, reporting any unsafe conditions, and completing hourly checks using In Process Check Sheets and Gaging to ensure parts meet Quality Specifications. The operator will also notify the Team Leader of any suspect material and help to contain it. Changeovers are completed using the Changeover Procedure, which includes attaching fixtures and jigs, changing out station changeover pieces, and filling in a Changeover checklist. The operator completes standardized work in accordance with Work Instructions, removes material from boxes and places it in fixtures or on conveyors, and moves parts from machine to machine as the process is completed. They observe and listen to machine operation to detect malfunctions, measure and inspect parts for conformance to specifications, and notify the Team Leader of any abnormal or unusual conditions. Completing line PM’s (planned maintenance) and submitting kaizen suggestions for improvements are also part of the role.
