This position promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members. Nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital, Nursing Department, and regulatory standards. Duties include floating to the entire Outpatient Services area which includes: Day surgery, Infusions, Endoscopy Lab and GI, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Pre-operative Clinic, and hospital needs of conscious sedation for special procedures. The role requires using skills in nursing assessment to include peri-operative education and care, recognizing post anesthesia and post-operative complications. The position also facilitates the discharge and transportation of patients to outlying nursing units or home. This position requires rotation in the on-call schedule for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts and days of work vary and will be determined based on need once filled.
