SSIS ETL Developer
About The Position
Seeking an experienced SQL Server and SSIS Developer to support enterprise data integration, database development, ETL processes, and production support activities for Compliance and Library Platforms within the Luminance team. The role contributes to the future-state database strategy by designing, developing, and supporting scalable data solutions for reliable end-to-end data flow, observability, automation, and operational excellence. The contractor will work with internal customers and stakeholders across CTI, EET, APSE, GIS, and Compliance and Library Platform teams to gather requirements, resolve production issues, and deliver data integration solutions. The position combines development and problem-solving, with a focus on high-quality, supportable solutions and the stability, scalability, and efficiency of critical data platforms.
Requirements
- 7+ years of Microsoft SQL Server experience.
- Advanced T-SQL development expertise, including stored procedures, user-defined functions, views, dynamic SQL, and complex queries.
- Experience with query optimization, performance tuning, execution plan analysis, index design and optimization, and database troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of blocking and deadlock analysis, transaction isolation levels, statistics and index maintenance, database recovery concepts, and data integrity validation.
- 5+ years of SSIS development experience.
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise ETL solutions, including incremental load strategies, logging and auditing frameworks, error handling, event handlers, package configurations, deployment, and scheduling.
- Experience integrating data across SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, flat files, and Excel.
- Experience with multi-million-row databases, large nightly batch processing, and high-volume data ingestion.
- Knowledge of data validation and reconciliation, partitioning strategies, bulk loading techniques, query optimization, and table maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, accountability, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and teamwork skills, including communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Organizational and prioritization skills for a fast-paced environment, adaptability, a continuous-improvement mindset, and ability to work across development, infrastructure, DevOps, and support functions.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support scalable SQL Server database and SSIS ETL solutions.
- Support enterprise data integration, database development, ETL processes, and production operations for Compliance and Library Platforms.
- Gather requirements and deliver data integration solutions in collaboration with internal customers and stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and drive problems to resolution.
- Optimize database performance and support large-scale data processing.
- Build and support ETL processes involving incremental loads, logging and auditing, error handling, package configuration, deployment, and scheduling.
- Integrate data from SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, flat files, and Excel.
- Support data validation, reconciliation, bulk loading, partitioning, and table maintenance.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Take ownership of work from requirements through production support, balancing technical quality with business outcomes.
- Collaborate across development, infrastructure, DevOps, and support functions; share knowledge and contribute to team success.
