About The Position

Measures, weighs, visually inspects, and packages fired ceramic products. Operates and monitors the ISO (Isostatic Testing) process, which involves the strength testing of fired ceramic products. These are integral procedures in the manufacturing of ceramic products that meet the required specifications & quality standards.

Requirements

  • Must be able to successfully complete all required job training.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 6 months manufacturing/warehousing experience or equivalent.
  • CRC Bronze or above.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions.
  • Ability to communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees.
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates in the hospitality, housekeeping and laundry industry would be a plus.
  • CRC certificate a plus but can be obtained before employment.
  • Certified Production Technician program completion.

Responsibilities

  • Uses the FIR (Final Inspection Record) to set up the line, which includes all necessary gauges for the inspection process.
  • Verifies all required gauges and dimensional characteristics by referencing the Verification Sheet and confirming current calibration dates.
  • Retrieves products from the Rack Server or Fired Body Storage areas and delivers them to assigned staging areas.
  • Performs power-up/start-up procedures according to established instructions.
  • Applies part-specific visual criteria to visually inspect each part.
  • Verifies product conformance to customer specifications using measuring gauges and scales.
  • Records inspection process data and inputs it into the company’s information systems.
  • Places inspected and approved products into boxes according to established work instructions.
  • Verifies travel tickets to be tested by referencing the posted travel ticket listing and retrieves pallets of product with the appropriate ticket numbers.
  • Performs ISO testing machine start-up and set-up procedures according to approved work instructions.
  • Operates and monitors the ISO machine process, removes product upon completion, and visually inspects for damage.
  • Vacuums the ISO machine as required and keeps the work area orderly and clean.
  • Segregates non-conforming products according to established instructions.
  • Uses caution with cutting instruments, proper lifting techniques, and chemicals according to Safety Data Sheets.
  • Stacks finishing pallets to a maximum of seven high to avoid lifting and falling accidents.
  • Works safely by avoiding forklifts, staying clear of forklift doors, and using personnel doors when entering or exiting buildings.
  • Participates in PM (Preventive Maintenance), MMOL (Machine Maintenance Operator Leader), and G5S (Global 5S) activities as needed.
  • Follows all EMS (Environmental Management System) procedures, including waste disposal.
