About The Position

McKim & Creed is seeking an enthusiastic Sewer System Evaluation Survey (SSES) Field Technician to support Civil Engineering Water/Wastewater design projects. As part of a multi-discipline project team, you will contribute to the production of design/construction drawings and specifications. Your primary responsibility will be conducting data collection activities for typical SSES projects, ensuring efficient, timely, and accurate data recording.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED is required.
Must be able to travel.
Willing to work in and around open sanitary sewer lines.
Have the ability to obtain and maintain a Confined Space Entry certification.
Should possess basic computer skills.
Good technical skills.
Valid drivers license.

Nice To Haves

Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and/or Trimble Products is preferred.
Previous SSES experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Performing field inspections and investigations by collecting high quality and accurate data.
Manhole Inspections - record various structure attributes and identify defects.
Smoke Testing - conduct smoke tests and record defects encountered.
Night Flow Isolations - measure wastewater flows during non-peak usage.
Dye Testing - conduct dye water tracing and dye water flooding.
Flow Monitoring - install & maintain open channel flow metering equipment.
CCTV Inspections – conduct robotic video inspections of wastewater sewer pipelines in accordance to NASSCO PACP, MACP, and LACP standards.
Frequent overnight travel is required.
This position requires a lot of walking outside and climbing ladders year-round through various terrain and in extreme heat and cold.
Ability to work in Confined Spaces, including sanitary sewer manholes.
