SSD Hardware Architect

MicronLongmont, CO
Onsite

About The Position

Seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented Hardware Architect to develop Micron’s next generation Solid State Drive (SSD) products. We build the hardware that powers next-generation storage. Our team brings together deep technical expertise and hands-on problem solving to create SSD solutions that are fast, efficient, and built for scale. We work closely across disciplines, move quickly, and take pride in delivering designs that make a real impact. This role is central to shaping how our SSD platforms are architected and delivered. You will drive key hardware decisions, influence system-level performance, and collaborate with experienced engineers to bring complex designs from concept to production. If you enjoy solving challenging problems and owning critical pieces of the design, this is a great fit. This position requires experience in hardware architecture, design, power integrity; including modeling and implementations. A successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of commercially available PMICs and voltage regulators for low voltage designs. Experience with PCB design tools (simulation and analysis) and a thorough understanding of hardware development methodologies is a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or computer engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware design and system architecture
  • Strong foundation in circuit design, transmission line fundamentals, and power & signal integrity
  • Experience with PCB design, high-speed routing, and power subsystem implementation
  • Proficiency with simulation tools such as SPICE, IBIS, or Hspice

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or computer engineering
  • Experience designing hardware for large-scale manufacturing including DFx considerations
  • Hands-on experience with power integrity analysis in lab environments
  • Familiarity with PCB stack-up design, via technologies, and design constraint definition
  • Strong communication skills and experience guiding or mentoring engineers

Responsibilities

  • Define hardware architectures and participate in design reviews and requirements development for SSD products
  • Design power topologies and ensure strong power integrity across subsystems
  • Simulate and analyze designs, providing recommendations to improve performance and reliability
  • Collaborate across firmware, system, and validation teams to meet product requirements
  • Mentor engineers and contribute technical guidance across the hardware team

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental and vision plans
  • Benefit programs that help protect your income if you are unable to work due to illness or injury
  • Paid family leave
