SSD Customer Validation Engineer

Micron TechnologyLongmont, CO

About The Position

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions. This position focuses on ensuring the compatibility of SSD products across various systems, operating systems, hardware, and feature sets. The role involves overseeing test execution, data analytics, debugging, and triaging. Key responsibilities include designing tests for firmware-implemented SSD features, automating test plan development using Python, and exploring improvements to SSD validation strategies and processes. The engineer will collaborate with process owners, firmware developers, and validation engineers to enhance products and processes, report and monitor test results for product release qualification, and serve as a subject matter expert on customer test requirements and industry certifications. The role also involves reviewing and challenging existing test plans to increase effectiveness and efficiency, implementing new validation approaches for better coverage and accuracy, and leading product test cycles. Furthermore, the engineer will develop validation strategies, define test cases to verify functional and non-functional requirements, work with product design on test case development aligned with FW and HW architecture, identify PASS/FAIL criteria, and enable shift-left efforts to detect failures earlier.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation.
  • Experience with Enterprise SATA & PCIe SSDs, NAND, memory storage hierarchy and enterprise storage.
  • Ability to analyze complex firmware, software (Windows & Linux), and hardware issues in system with ASIC/FPGA design and FPGA design tools.
  • Proficiency in Embedded C and Object-Oriented Programming language.
  • Experience with Data Analytics.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows OS.
