  • 5+ years of experience building complex wire harnesses from scratch.
  • Mastery of industry-standard crimping, terminating, splicing, and shielding techniques.
  • Proven experience soldering components onto PCBAs under a microscope.
  • Advanced ability to interpret complex wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Ability to multi-task and pivot quickly in a fast-paced prototype environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical trade school certification.
  • Current or prior IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Certified IPC Specialist) status.
  • Familiarity with J-STD-001 for soldered electrical and electronic assemblies.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage safety protocols and orange-cable handling/shielding.
  • Experience with 5S, Six Sigma, or similar quality management frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Build, install, and repair complex LV and HV harnesses according to detailed technical drawings & schematics.
  • Perform 100% visual and mechanical inspections on in-house builds, focusing on routing, labeling, tie-wrap tension, and overall workmanship.
  • Conduct crimp height analysis, pull-tests, and terminal seating audits to ensure electrical and mechanical integrity.
  • Use calipers & tape measures to verify harness lengths and breakout points against engineering specifications.
  • Maintain rigorous audit logs and "redline" engineering drawings when discrepancies or design improvements are identified.
  • Utilize microscopes to solder components onto PCBAs and perform wire-to-board terminations.
  • Partner with the engineering and production teams to perform root-cause analysis on defects and suggest process optimizations.
