About The Position

Analyze files for various loan programs, assess risk factors, and determine eligibility for loans or credit products. Use good judgement and up-to-date knowledge and experience to analyze increasingly complex loans. Adhere to investor and compliance guidelines and provide support and guidance to analyst underwriters.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, Bachelor Degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of underwriting experience, including in-depth knowledge of self- employed borrower review.

Responsibilities

• Review all loan documentation submitted for initial underwriting decision, conditional approvals, and clear to close.
• Evaluate business and personal financial statements, credit history, income, assets and current liabilities for ability to repay.
• Conduct careful risk analysis and exercise good judgment to determine if loans conform to applicable portfolio and investor underwriting guidelines.
• Requires proficiency and in-depth knowledge of commercial spreading and cash flow analysis.
• Review and respond to quality control items related to credit.
• Other duties as assigned.
