About The Position

Job Objectives : Grow and manage a portfolio of Defense Base Act (DBA) and Foreign Casualty business, employing the methods necessary to meet projected profitability, GWP, and expense goals, proper underwriting discipline/guidelines, marketing, and servicing of existing and potential clients. Duties and Responsibilities : Specific responsibilities of this position include: Perform account analysis according to Allied World (US) General Casualty guidelines. Review and analyze underwriting submissions. Prepare quotes, binders, invoices, underwriting worksheets within company guidelines. Maintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines. Work in conjunction with Allied Worldwide to build out local admitted network and place local admitted coverages as necessary. Attend Client meetings, lunches, dinners, and other social outings as applicable. Attend educational seminars. Market within region and engage production meetings. Work with Legal department for manuscript wording analysis and preparation Other duties as may be assigned. Compensation: The below annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below he listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but now limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one compensation of Allied World comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards. The base salary for this position is $120,000 - $140,000

Requirements

  • Excellent Communication skills for both internal and external clients
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in General Casualty/DBA underwriting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including word, outlook, and excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills, and ability to multitask required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPCU designation, or partial, preferred.
