About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Sr Transportation Manager for our Houston, TX area. This person will be responsible for providing specialist support to the Lead PM in the implementation of the Real Estate (RE) HSSE Protocols. They will verify that Contractors are meeting RE's HSSE requirements and delivering Goal Zero on the project. This role supports auditing activities on site to check and drive safe working practice, verifies Contractor compliance with the Project Specific Safety Plan, PTWs, Method Statements, and Job Safety Analysis. The position also verifies HSSE Intervention and near miss reporting at all levels, and ensures effective incident investigations, reporting, and close-out. The Sr Transportation Manager will collect and disseminate Safety Behavior Observations & incidents to key stakeholders, ensure all contractor onboarding and HSSE training is verified, and provide HSSE information, advice, and recommendations to the Project Manager. They will also verify effective Contractor HSSE co-ordination with other key stakeholders and be responsible for effective HSSE in transition and handover to the Operate phase. The role involves reviewing and commenting on PTWs, Method Statements, and Task Risk Assessments, and verifying accurate and timely monthly HSSE reporting from contractors.

Requirements

BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Nice To Haves

Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OSHT)
Minimum 5-years of HSSE experience.
Asbestos experience
Demolition experience

Responsibilities

Provide specialist support to the Lead PM in the implementation of the Real Estate (RE) HSSE Protocols
Verify the Contractors are meeting RE's HSSE requirements and delivering Goal Zero on the project.
Support auditing activities on site to check and drive safe working practice.
Verify Contractor compliance with Project Specific Safety Plan.
Verify Contractor compliance with PTWs, Method Statements and Job Safety Analysis.
Verify HSSE Intervention and near miss reporting at all levels.
Verify Contractor reporting and recording of incidents and follow up to verify effective close out.
Verify, as appropriate, effective incident investigations.
Collect and Disseminate Safety Behavior Observations & incidents to key stakeholders.
Ensure all projects’ related incidents are reported and properly closed out.
Ensure that all contractor’s performing on-site work are Avetta-Compliant or has an approved site-waiver in place.
Verify required Contractor onboarding and other HSSE training.
Provide HSSE information, advice and recommendations to the Project Manager.
Verify effective Contractor HSSE co-ordination with other key stakeholders.
Responsible for effective HSSE in transition and handover to Operate phase.
Verify Contractor compliance with the site HSSE management system.
Review and comment upon (but not approve) PTWs, Method Statements and Task Risk Assessments prior to works being carried out.
Verify Contractor accurate and timely monthly HSSE reporting.
