The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Tier II Network Technician to support various WAN and LAN networks. This role involves providing incident resolution, routing changes, and firewall changes. The technician will act as a subject matter expert in WAN and LAN technologies and support intra- and inter-net and other data communications systems or segments of networked systems. The job duties include supporting the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices, responding to and resolving incident tickets, and drafting and implementing standard network change requests. The role also involves providing support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects, including site surveys, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), and coordinating and installing new equipment. Configuration management functions such as updating topology drawings, ensuring asset management records are accurate, and conducting inventory are also key responsibilities. The technician will coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades, and perform configuration and troubleshooting of layer 2 switching (VLANs, Port Security, and Thin Configurations). Additionally, the role includes performing COMSEC custodian duties, ensuring the proper handling, storage, and safeguarding of cryptographic materials in compliance with U.S. Government Policies, maintaining accountability and inventory control of COMSEC equipment, keying material, and related documentation, and supporting the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of encryption devices like TACLANEs and other secure communication equipment. The position also supports network security operations, ensuring COMSEC integration aligns with overall cybersecurity requirements.
