About The Position

The Senior Thermal Design Engineer is responsible for the product design and development of heat transfer equipment and products. This role involves performing heat transfer calculations, reviewing and interpreting laboratory test data (including heat transfer, materials analysis, and structural), and developing heat transfer models using Kuli software. The engineer will also be involved in prototype planning, testing, and cost assessment, as well as product validation and certification. Additionally, the position requires providing technical support to customers, suppliers, partners, and internal departments. Key responsibilities include concept development, standards development (material, design, and test), project scheduling, prototype building, and utilizing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA). The role also ensures all new products are qualified and existing products maintain their standards.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of heat transfer theory, radiator design, materials, assembly, and operating characteristics.
  • Familiarity with New Product Development Cycles
  • Ability to work on technology programs with consideration for overall budget and timing.
  • Knowledge of predictive software - Kuli specifically
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to conduct research (problem identification, data collection and analysis, solution formulation, testing and evaluation).
  • Skill in dealing with others including Engendren employees, suppliers, and end users.
  • Ability to plan, organize and direct multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with CAE tools - Kuli, FEA and CFD
  • Ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships (in person/phone/e-mail).
  • Master’s degree in mechanical, Thermal, Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Ten years of experience in heat exchanger design, calculations, and manufacturing
  • Min of seven years of product technology development
  • Driver’s license
