About The Position

Flex is a diversified manufacturing partner that helps brands design, build, and deliver innovative products. The Sr Test Engineering Manager is located in Milpitas, California, and reports to the Director, Operations Engineering. This role manages the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of testing procedures, strategies, systems, components, and modifications. It advises the test engineering team on projects, tasks, and operations, serves as a liaison to other engineering functions, and ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. The position leads global test engineering strategy and execution, manages and develops Test Engineering teams, and drives test yield, product quality, and reliability improvements. It oversees test equipment and automated test systems and collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve technical issues and support new product introductions. The role also identifies and manages testing risks and aligns project delivery with business and customer requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
9+ years of engineering experience, including leadership of engineering organizations.
Experience developing and implementing test strategies, procedures, and test plans for electronic products, systems, or software, including defining test conditions, sequences, and validation methodologies.
Expertise with test equipment, instrumentation, and automated test systems, including development, installation, calibration, and maintenance of testing hardware and software solutions.
Strong root cause analysis and yield improvement experience, with demonstrated success identifying test failures, troubleshooting product or system issues, and implementing corrective actions to improve quality and reliability.
Ability to analyze and interpret complex test data, generate technical reports, and provide data-driven recommendations to engineering and operational teams.
Experience leading test engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle, including coordinating test execution, managing testing risks, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of global test engineering strategies, including validation methodologies, test plans, and test automation initiatives for new and existing products.
Manage and mentor Test Engineering teams, including technical excellence, resource planning, performance development, and project execution.
Drive test yield improvement through root cause analysis, corrective actions, process optimization, and implementation of testing best practices.
Oversee the design, deployment, calibration, and maintenance of test equipment, instrumentation, and automated test systems.
Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve complex product and system issues and support new product introductions.
Identify, assess, and manage testing risks while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with business and customer requirements.
Advise the test engineering team on projects, tasks, and operations and act as a liaison to other engineering functions.
Manage the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of testing procedures, strategies, systems, components, and modifications.
