About The Position

FNBO is seeking a talented Senior QA Automation Engineer with Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript expertise to join their Credit Card team. In this role, the engineer will be instrumental in driving quality and reliability across software applications while advancing automation capabilities. The role involves applying Quality Engineering principles throughout the Agile lifecycle and leading a ‘Quality / Automation as a Team Mindset’ within the team. The Senior QA Automation Engineer will exhibit domain knowledge and product expertise for supported applications, decompose stories/business requirements into clear test cases, and estimate, prioritize, plan, coordinate, perform, and document test execution results. They will be responsible for reporting, tracking, and retesting defects/bugs prior to release, participating in test case peer reviews and automation code reviews, and collaborating with the delivery team to build automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline. The position also requires analyzing and understanding current technology architecture, system interdependencies, and application stacks, leading by example in self-learning new technical skills and tools, driving consistent improvement and knowledge sharing, and leading automation strategies/solutions and projects. The engineer will evaluate and propose new tools for continuous improvement, build, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain effective test automation solutions, and set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Automation Frameworks. Mentoring others in test automation, programming, and QA best practices, and independently researching, solving, and programming complex automation solutions are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

Strong proficiency in Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience with agile methodologies and test automation strategies
Ability to work on-site in Omaha following our hybrid schedule (3 days in-office)
Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship today or in the future
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience and/or certifications
5+ years of hands-on experience in UI and API test automation
5+ years of programming/scripting experience with JavaScript and/or Java
3+ years working with Git version control systems (Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab)
Proven experience leveraging AI tools to enhance test script management and automation
Proficiency with modern automation frameworks and tools including Playwright, TestComplete, Selenium, Cypress, Postman, or Swagger
Experience with web application, microservices, and database automation
Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and pipeline integration
Expertise across all testing levels: System, Integration, and Regression
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks
Skilled in developing and documenting comprehensive regression testing strategies
Working knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
Deep understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
Strong foundation in Agile QA methodologies, tools, and processes
Experience with automation metrics and analytics tools (GitLab, BrowserStack, etc.)
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to clearly articulate complex technical information to diverse audiences

Responsibilities

Define, implement, and maintain advanced automation solutions and strategies for the team
Provide technical leadership and guidance to enhance automation effectiveness across the practice
Collaborate closely with your agile team, participating in ceremonies and contributing to acceptance criteria development
Create and execute test cases and scripts for both manual and automated functional testing
Ensure quality issues and defects are properly identified, documented, tracked, and resolved before release
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality credit card features
