About The Position

Tampa Electric Company is hiring for its Technology Project Manager progression job family, ideally at the Senior Technology Project Manager level. The position may be filled at another level in the progression based on the candidate’s education and years of experience. The Senior Technology Project Manager leads medium- to large-scale projects with moderate complexity and strategic importance, aligning cross-functional teams and project goals with organizational strategy. The role requires autonomy and strategic thinking, and includes mentoring junior project managers, improving PMO processes, and managing stakeholder expectations. The Senior Technology Project Manager develops and manages project plans, schedules, and budgets; coordinates internal resources and vendors; monitors progress; and identifies and mitigates risks and issues. The role communicates project status to stakeholders and leadership, supports PMO improvement and governance, and applies business acumen to identify technology solutions that advance business goals. It also serves as an escalation point for business partners’ technology issues, provides guidance on technology needs and prioritization, collaborates with procurement on vendor contract review and redlining, and works to address gaps between business needs and technology capabilities. The role may indirectly supervise Project Managers, Business Systems Analysts, co-ops, and interns.
