Requirements

  • Associates Degree
  • Commitment to safety, with experience leading safety upgrades and conducting risk assessments in a lab environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office platforms, including Excel and Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive hands-on experience with mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in 3D printing and SolidWorks preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously, showing initiative, and completing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and a high level of personal accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, technical team, and management staff to meet project deliverables and drive technical solutions.
  • Operate and maintain department equipment, including troubleshooting and repairing.
  • Execute experimental plans, collect data, and document experimental setpoints and results.
  • Interact with internal customers to understand incoming laser processing requests and provide timely sample part delivery.
  • Perform assembly, installation, debugging, and start-up of new laser set-ups.
  • Ensure up-to-date process and safety documentation.
  • Utilize 3D printing and SolidWorks for custom part fabrication to accelerate process development.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness, safety, organization, manage inventory levels, and order supplies as needed.
  • Support new improvements to lab spaces, equipment, safety initiatives, and laser processes.
  • Coordinate the movement of samples between lab spaces, across campus, and arrange domestic and international shipments.
