Summary of Position: - Calibrates, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots instrumentation and equipment for laboratory and manufacturing plants to ensure conformance to established calibration standards. - Carry out planned or unplanned maintenance and repair activities on a wide range of electronic equipment and process control and safety systems. - Provide solutions to complex equipment, instruments and control system problems. - Records the information accurately on forms provided and work orders. - Consults manufacturers manuals, circuit diagrams, schematics, specifications, P&IDs, and blueprints to determine tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature, chemical composition and other variables in manufacturing and processing. - Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitter, final elements and controllers, or remove and replace defective parts. - Work closely with the technical service technician, supervisor and planner to target maintainability issues at lower cost and improve productivity. - Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports. - Attend all service calls in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree as Instrumentation Technician
  • Four to Five years experience in calibration and maintenance of chemical process plants for instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish and English
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from drawings, schematics, testing instructions and specifications.
  • Ability to operate electronic test equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose problems, make adjustments, repair and obtain settings and calibrate instruments and control systems.
  • Ability to use Maximo CMMS software
