About The Position

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides secure, resizable compute capacity in the cloud, designed to make web-scale cloud computing easier and more cost effective for developers. The EC2 Capacity Customer Experience (CCX) team within AWS aims to ensure the right capacity is available for customers through forecasting, planning, guidance, and execution, especially for large unpredictable scaling events. The team is seeking a passionate, driven, and talented Senior Technical Program Manager to make high-velocity decisions in ambiguous circumstances. This customer-facing role involves driving key initiatives that support goals/KPIs reported to executive leadership. As cloud computing becomes more technologically complex, this role offers an opportunity to drive capital efficiency and ensure optimal decisions for customer satisfaction. Additional responsibilities include driving process improvements and collaborating with engineering organizations to build new technologies that automate EC2 Capacity planning. Senior Technical Program Managers are granted ownership and autonomy from day one to think strategically, make data-driven decisions, and significantly impact customer experience and business outcomes. This role involves working with professionals across Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Finance, with high visibility to senior AWS leaders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
