About The Position

Microsoft Advertising (MSA) is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager for the Opportunity Analytics team within the Global Business Planning function. This role focuses on analyzing monetization performance and identifying growth opportunities across regions, products, and advertiser segments globally. The TPM will work with large datasets to understand growth drivers within the ad platform, publishers, advertisers, and consumers in international markets. Key responsibilities include developing strategies to translate marketplace trends into actionable advertiser growth opportunities, collaborating with stakeholders on sales initiatives, and measuring program impact. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the global advertising space, particularly performance advertising and audience-led buying across various channels, strong analytical skills for complex business questions, and excellent communication skills to influence partners and stakeholders. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on approach to data analysis / data mining with a solid focus on quality.
  • Experience with MS Excel.
  • Superior communications skills, both verbal and written, and ability to engage with business partners and executives to influence and drive data-based strategic decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ years of experience applying sophisticated analytics to solve complex business questions.
  • Experience with turning large scale data into actionable insights and decisions.
  • Experience with SQL, PowerBI and Python.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a framework to identify growth opportunities by analyzing marketplace, advertiser, and monetization trends for global markets.
  • Drive demand programs in partnership with relevant teams to execute against identified opportunities.
  • Serve as a key partner to Business Planning, Demand Planning, Market Sciences, and Sales Strategy teams on opportunities, programs, and measurement.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects involving the analysis of large quantities of data to generate meaningful actionable insights for advertisers.
  • Collaborate with various teams within the Microsoft Advertising ecosystem to leverage diverse assets and tools for solving business problems.
  • Showcase thought leadership by exploring new areas for sustainable advertiser demand growth through monitoring demand performance, quality, and diversification.
  • Develop frameworks and build cases for leadership buy-in on strategic recommendations.
  • Research evolving industry trends and the competitive landscape to understand implications for the business and advertiser base.
  • Develop and implement strategic recommendations with business leadership.
  • Provide thought leadership, advice, influence, and insight to partners across other teams.
