  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, translating complex plans into high-level summaries for non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in engineering, scripting, automation, and/or technical writing.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Architecture (Azure, AWS, GCP), Containerization/Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), Telemetry stacks (Graphana, Datadog), Build systems (Python, Jenkins), and Alerting systems (Opsgenie, Xmatters).
  • Comfort working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, marketing, and external vendors.
  • A passion for Magic: The Gathering and familiarity with its community; knowledge of Arena as a product is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work within an Agile framework and advocate for its guidelines.
  • Communicate through roadmaps, reports, and documentation, outlining 2-3 year plans for upper management, and keeping your team informed of what’s next.
  • Own Agile ceremonies, confidently remove team obstacles, acquire necessary resources, and push back appropriately when required.
  • Mentor mid- and associate-level production staff, sharing knowledge and teaching methodologies.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external partners, reviewing and commenting on technical whitepapers and contracts.
  • Raise red flags at the right time and involve the right resources to effect immediate, proactive change.
  • Conduct RCAs as needed and coordinate a weekly sync with all live service-associated engineers on Arena.
