About The Position

Boston Government Services (BGS) is seeking an experienced professional to lead and provide integrated technical editing, document production, and records management support in secure, highly regulated environments. This position serves as a primary resource for producing clear, accurate, and controlled technical documentation and for managing records throughout their lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Associate degree and at least seven years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree and at least five years of relevant experience.
  • At least three years of experience supporting DOE, Federal, nuclear, engineering, engineering-procurement-construction (EPC), or another regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead functional or departmental activities, coordinate work across multiple organizations, and independently manage assignments to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with management, subject matter experts, clients, and project teams to meet schedules, priorities, and organizational objectives.
  • Experience managing technical documents and records throughout their lifecycle, including review, processing, digitization, indexing, organization, retrieval, retention, transfer, and disposition.
  • Experience editing technical, engineering, quality assurance, project management, procedural, or regulatory documents for accuracy, consistency, clarity, and readability.
  • Experience with electronic document management systems, electronic records management systems, SharePoint, or similar information management platforms.
  • Working knowledge of records retention requirements, records lifecycle management, configuration management principles, and document control practices in regulated environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, punctuation, technical usage, document formatting, and publication standards.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and attention-to-detail skills, including the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Experience handling sensitive, controlled, proprietary, classified, or controlled unclassified information.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, Records Management, Information Management, or a related discipline.
  • Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience supporting technical documentation, records management, document control, EPC, nuclear, government, or other regulated work.
  • Experience leading a records management, document control, technical editing, publishing, or information management function.
  • Experience with Federal records transfer, retention, and disposition processes.
  • Knowledge of construction, procurement, engineering, EPC terminology, records systems, and Controlled Unclassified Information and Controlled Matter Protection and Control requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Specialist certification, records management certification, or comparable demonstrated expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for technical editing, document production, document control, and records management activities.
  • Lead and coordinate records management and technical editing activities across BGS projects, departments, and client organizations.
  • Provide guidance on records retention, records disposition, document control, information management, and related practices.
  • Edit, proofread, format, and produce procedures, manuals, reports, forms, meeting minutes, and other technical and administrative deliverables.
  • Improve document accuracy, clarity, consistency, readability, and presentation while resolving questions with document owners and subject matter experts.
  • Develop and maintain forms, organizational charts, flowcharts, graphics, templates, and other publication-ready materials.
  • Manage records throughout their lifecycle, including review, inventory, digitization, indexing, organization, retrieval, transfer, retention, and disposition.
  • Review documents and records for required classification, control, and handling markings and verify associated information.
  • Handle classified information, controlled unclassified information (CUI), proprietary information, and other controlled records in accordance with applicable procedures and training.
  • Track assignments, support project meetings, prepare accurate meeting minutes and action-item records, and communicate status, schedule, and resource risks.
  • Identify and implement improvements to document and records management processes.
  • Provide senior-level guidance and responsive support to BGS and client teams while meeting contractual, security, safety, quality, and reporting requirements.
