About The Position

Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital in Wildomar, California, is a licensed 122-bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission. It is Southwest Riverside County's only designated Trauma Center and a county-designated Paramedic Base Station. The hospital performs more than 4,000 surgeries a year, and has an average of 4,000 Emergency Department visits per month. The hospital features a Bariatric Weight-Loss Surgery Center of Excellence and the region’s only Total Joint Center. Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital in Murrieta, California, is a 120 bed acute-care hospital with the region's only Pediatric Emergency Services team (for children 14 and under) provided by board certified Rady Children’s emergency medicine physicians. Rancho Springs Hospital also provides the area's only OB/Emergency Department program, which gives expectant mothers 24/7 on-site access to OB/GYN physician coverage. The Childbirth Center at Rancho Springs Hospital is the largest in the region and features spacious family-friendly private suites. Rancho's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is operated by Rady Children’s. Employee may be required to float to the other facility within Southwest Health Rancho Springs and Inland Valley Hospital based on operational needs, with appropriate orientation and competency validation provided.

Requirements

  • At least seven (7) years working experience to include but not limited to one or more of the following commercial systems: HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, boiler and other hospital utility systems.
  • Health care setting experience preferred.
  • Trade or vocational experience.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Current California driver’s license.
  • Require at least one of the following (at hire only): Licensed or certified in: HVAC/R certification, California MECH certification by CSHE (California Society for Healthcare Engineering) or an Associates degree in a related field or Military experience in related field or 10 years of plant operations experience.
  • CPI Certification within the first 90 days.
  • Hands on experience in hospital or related commercial facilities equipment.
  • Numerical ability needed to make calculations for installation and repair of equipment.
  • Competent in the use of various test equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints/building plans.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Able to use and learn various computer programs and building systems.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Completing high priority work orders as well as performing service and repairs on HVAC/R, boiler, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, and other hospital critical systems.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are properly maintained and all work areas are kept clean and stocked.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance on all major equipment; maintains 100% adherence to department inspection schedules and procedures.
  • Ensure all codes and regulatory agencies requirements are followed.
  • Ensure to inform appropriate supervisor of shut downs or interruptions of service prior to shut down.
  • Reports all safety concerns and equipment malfunctions to supervisor and/or direction immediately.
  • Assumes and/or performs additional duties as requested.
