About The Position

Palmdale Regional Medical Center serves the region by providing high quality medical services to residents of the Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding communities. With the recent addition of the Rehabilitation Institute, the hospital features 184 licensed acute care beds as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac services featuring a STEMI Receiving Center (heart attack) and a 35-bed 24-hour emergency department. The Center for Wound Care provides treatment for people with chronic non-healing wounds. This comprehensive wound-healing service includes hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Palmdale Regional Medical Center is active in the community and regularly participates with the Antelope Valley Board of Trade, Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance, Chambers of Commerce and other civic and governmental groups. Essential Job Duties: Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the Sr. ER Technician is responsible to administer patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Follows the plan of care set by the registered nurse and/or physician, managing the individual needs of the patient with regards to their age and clinical diagnosis. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in the Emergency Department in order to ensure and maintaining smooth patient flow. The Sr. E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Current CA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or LVN Blood withdrawal certification required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
  • CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
  • EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant license required –OR- Currently enrolled in RN program with successful completion of 2 semesters of clinical coursework.
  • Basic dysrhythmia certification or obtained within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in an acute care setting preferred
