The platform supports high-volume, high-risk transactions including ACH, wires, journals, bill payments, and emerging capabilities such as crypto transfers. As a Sr. Manager, People Leader (PL), you will play a pivotal role in leading engineering teams responsible for delivering resilient, scalable, and compliant platform capabilities while shaping the future of money movement experiences at Schwab. This role provides people leadership, delivery ownership, and strategic direction for a portfolio of Move Money applications and services. The leader will drive execution across multiple agile teams, ensure platform stability and resiliency, and partner closely with product, architecture, and enterprise stakeholders to align on priorities and outcomes. The role is critical to maintaining operational excellence, cross-domain coordination, and long-term modernization strategy for Move Money capabilities.

  • Experience in implementing secure transaction architectures leveraging AuthZ, Step-Up Authentication (SUA), passkeys, and token-based security (JWT/OAuth)
  • Experience in crypto and digital asset transfer capabilities, including wallet integrations and crypto payment flows
  • Experience in leading end-to-end delivery of crypto and digital asset transfer capabilities, including E2E validation, controlled production rollout, and cross-functional coordination across engineering, product, and risk teams
  • Experience managing multiple agile teams, cross-functional programs across product, engineering, and operations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through operational incidents and drive resiliency improvements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, payments, or money movement platforms

  • Ensure reliability, availability, and performance of critical money movement systems
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and resiliency improvements
  • Drive adoption of SLOs/SLIs, monitoring, and failure recovery patterns
  • Champion engineering quality, observability, and release discipline
  • Lead and develop a team of ~10–15 engineers (FTE + vendor mix)
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and career development
