About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position will be to manage corporate federal income tax, state income tax or partnership tax filings and audits, and the ASC 740 financial reporting process. The ideal candidate will have excellent tax-technical skills, leadership, communication, and project management skills, the ability to work well with various business partners and functions, and be highly organized with the ability to pay close attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, with an emphasis in Accounting.
  • 7-11 years of professional experience in a public accounting or large corporate tax department experience.
  • [Federal, State income tax] or [Partnership tax] compliance and planning experience (7+ years).
  • [Federal, State income tax] or [Partnership tax] examination experience.
  • A detailed understanding of ASC 740 and GAAP Financial Reporting.
  • Strong tax research skills.
  • Demonstrated management skills and coordination of multiple simultaneous tasks; proven ability to motivate and lead others to complete tasks and achieve goals.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communications; ability to partner with senior business leaders and explain technical concepts to colleagues without a technical tax background.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with other functional areas to achieve the overall DaVita Mission.
  • Ability to identify and define problems, gather and review data, assess the alternatives, interpret the results, manage the risk, and communicate findings.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Certification (Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage various federal and partnership compliance and planning projects including training, review, and tracking.
  • Manage quarterly and annual Financial Reporting compliance.
  • Manage or assist with Federal, State, Partnership examination issues.
  • Assist with work allocation/prioritization decisions for compliance, planning, and other projects.
  • Assist fellow tax management/staff with process improvements to create efficiencies.
  • Manage third party outsourcing partners in every aspect of projects to ensure tasks are being done timely and accurately.
  • Direct managing of teammates, providing training, mentorship, and annual performance reviews.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
