About The Position

Sunrun is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team located in Lehi, Utah. This role presents an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a skilled tax team, navigating diverse tax compliance and reporting complexities that will build a strong foundation of business tax expertise. The Senior Tax Accountant will play a key role in managing the responsibilities and deliverables associated with the Company’s various tax filings, focusing primarily on corporate and partnership income taxes. Additionally, this professional may provide support for other tax compliance areas, such as sales tax, property tax, local excise tax, and various other business taxes.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
At least 3 years of public accounting experience is preferred.
Experience preparing and filing tax returns with local, state, and federal tax agencies is preferred.
Strong ability to use Excel to organize and analyze data sets using pivot tables, functions, and other tools.
Must be a quick learner who can work independently.
Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Assist in calculating and preparing schedules for the quarterly income tax provision.
Compile data and prepare detailed workpapers to support income tax compliance and specialized projects.
Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns along with their related schedules.
Support the team during tax-related audits and respond to tax notices.
Assist with vital research to guarantee compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, particularly as Sunrun expands into new jurisdictions.
Proactively identify and implement opportunities to increase operational efficiencies and accuracy.
Assist with reconciling tax-related general ledger accounts.
Support management with additional tax reporting and compliance projects as needed.
