About The Position

Motorola Solutions is a global leader in professional mobile communications systems, with a strong heritage of technological innovation. The upgrade team focuses on enhancing mission-critical digital communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers. This role is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of assigned projects, including the upgrade of radio networks (servers, network, and RF devices), customer presentations, and complete system documentation. The team operates in a high-performance culture with demanding timelines and high customer expectations, as they work on essential communication systems designed around the APCO Project 25 standard.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Networking, IT, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems required.
Experience/knowledge in radio communication systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless or broadband/LTE.
Experience, good understanding, and working knowledge in IP networking, network design methodologies & troubleshooting (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS).
Experience working with servers and virtualization such as ESXi, Linux-based Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM), Linux, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Windows Group Policy.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.
Willing and capable to lead a project, to be a team player, follow instructions, and identify and manage risks in a project.
Self-motivated, able to collaborate with members from different organizations.
Must be able to obtain a background clearance as required by government customers.

Nice To Haves

Experience directly working with end-user customers is desirable.
Previous knowledge and experience working with Juniper, Aviat, Cisco, Nokia/Alcatel, Xtreme, Ceragon, HPE Server, DELL PowerEdge Servers, HP Z2 Mini, HP ZBook Laptop.
Experience with switching and routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, iBGP, eBGP, M-BGP, MPLS RSVP-TE, LDP, and IPSec).
Experience working with Windows registry, navigating Linux filesystem, reading/following flow of Bash, PowerShell, and Python scripts, router, switch, and firewall configuration.
Experience working with remote login and file transfer protocols such as SSH, SCP, Telnet, Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), Server Message Block (SMB).
Experience with troubleshooting network connectivity, routing, Access Control List (ACL), firewall policies, remote login and file transfer issues, crashed script execution, and know how to use Wireshark.
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA or similar.
Experience with automation and tools such as Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
Experience designing or delivering technical training, curriculum development, or structured onboarding programs.
Demonstrated experience mentoring or developing junior engineers toward greater technical responsibility.
